Suzuki

In 1908 Suzuki started as a manufacturer of looms. For the first thirty years, the company was very successful thanks to the Japanese textile industry. In the years before World War II, Suzuki experimented with small car prototypes equipped with engines developed by Suzuki.

It was not until the early 1950s that Suzuki introduced small auxiliary engines that could be used to power a bicycle, and soon Suzuki also made motorcycles. The brand’s first car appeared in 1955, with front-wheel drive and independent suspension all round. Things that only became commonplace decades later.

Suzuki collaborations

Suzuki has marketed many models in collaboration with other brands, in Europe alone with Opel, Fiat and Nissan. Since 1958, Suzuki uses the logo with the S.
