According to a French web report, the facelifted Renault Captur is expected to be unveiled at the end of 2024. While it’s mostly a facelift (new cosmetics), the interior may change to keep up with current technologies, including 5G. Aside from the PHEV, a mild hybrid will also be available, according to the report.

Draft

Renderings of the future Captur on Auto Moto show changes to the front and back, while the sides feature changes to the rims. At the front, the render shows a new set of headlights and redesigned DRLs, forming a smooth S-shape that flows into the bumper. The grille is also slimmer and features LED strips at selected intervals, forming a dotted line to the logo, which itself is illuminated.

The bumper gets a refresh with a large air dam and side vents. The rear bumper has also been modified so that it looks more suitable for off-road use. The taillights, while still similar to the current model, are linked by a stripe with an illuminated Renault logo in the centre.

Inner

According to the report, there will be minor changes inside, especially since Renault has already modernized its cockpit. However, the infotainment screen could see more connectivity features and potentially introduce 5G connectivity. Renault could also throw more autonomous features into the mix to improve its safety rating for the Captur.

Renault Captur PHEV

Auto-Moto doesn’t say much about the specs of the 2024 Captur. However, they suggest that Renault could upgrade the petrol engines to mild hybrids with either 12V or 48V systems.

The Renault Captur E-Tech PHEV is powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine complemented by two electric motors. The combined engine output is 118 kW/160 hp. The combustion engine can deliver 144 Nm of torque, while the electric motors generate 205 Nm. The PHEV gets a 9.8 kWh battery, giving the Captur an all-electric range of up to 50 km. This can be used for most urban commutes if charged regularly, according to Renault’s press release. Speaking of which, Renault supplies customers with a home wallbox that can charge the car from 0 to 100 percent in three hours.

Price & Launch

The redesigned Renault Captur PHEV is not expected to be unveiled before late 2024 and according to Automoto’s report, a full launch can be expected in early 2024, with a UK launch expected in 2024. The report also suggests that the extra features and slight inflation could drive up the Captur’s price. In the UK, Renault launched the Captur Iconic E-Tech Hybrid 145 Auto variant in June 2024 for £24,500. The PHEV is available in Iconic, S Edition and RS Line trim levels.
