Peugeot will upgrade the 5008 to an SUV model that focuses more on practicality when the next generation arrives in 2023. Therefore, the next Peugeot 5008 2023 will be redesigned to an all-new exterior appearance and special electric platform.
Electric Car Development
With the release of specifications on the eVMP architecture (ie “Electric Vehicle Modular Platform”) by PSA, it will support all sedans and SUVs in group C and D segments. So that from 2023 onwards, the 5008 will become a fully electric vehicle.
Peugeot 5008 2023 Specification
The electric power offered will have around 335bhp, while the entry-level model will come with 134bhp units. The PSA will also offer support for battery packs that will range from 60kWh to 100kWh, as well as a front-drive or four-wheel powertrain.
But depending on the body bolted to the platform, the 5008’s maximum range will likely be closer to 350 miles, as this SUV increases in size and weight.
Exterior & Interior
PSA will also present a variety of light hybrid and plug-in hybrid units to complement the electric options. Since this platform is an evolution of the company’s existing EMP2 platform, these powertrains could be an evolution of the brand’s current technology.
The Peugeot 5008 2023 facelift features a more vertical rear glass line, the 5008 will also be increased for overall luggage capacity as well as accommodation for the third row of seats.
The roof line will still look aggressive and may be added to the use of side chrome trim, and to reduce the visual depth of the metal side of the car without using complicated surfaces.
So the Peugeot 5008 2023 will be more practical, but still have visual appeal, the kind of characteristics it will encourage more and more people to switch from MPV to SUV.
