The upcoming 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander may actually be even grander in terms of style, features, it will likely be an extended version of the current Highlander.
Toyota hasn’t said much about the Grand Highlander except that it will debut at the Chicago Auto Show in February 2023, and that will power the new SUV thanks to the Hybrid Max badge.
Despite going by the Highlander name, the Grand Highlander will be a new addition to Toyota’s lineup when it goes on sale sometime in late 2023.
The Grand Highlander will feature the same powertrain as the Hybrid Max version of the Crown. The Hybrid Max powertrain combines a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor for a peak output of 340 horsepower.
With the Hybrid Max, the only powertrain confirmed at this stage, the Grand Highlander will probably produce around 27 mpg combined.
That would make it much more efficient than the V6 in the Kia Telluride (18/24/21 mpg with AWD). The Grand Highlander will be heavier than the current Highlander Hybrid, which starts at 4,155 pounds and goes up to almost 4,600 lbs.

2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Price And Release Date
At this early stage, no price for the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander has been revealed. With more space than the standard Highlander and the Highlander Hybrid, we expect it to exceed those vehicles’ initial MSRPs of $36,420 and $40,220, respectively.
We’re expecting a starting price of around $40,000 if the Grand Highlander comes with the more affordable petrol-only engine, something that hasn’t been confirmed. Expect costs closer to $45,000 for the Hybrid Max. And Release date is in fall 2023.
