The new 2021 Jeep Gladiator bases its propulsion on this type of engine that is offered for the first time in the pick-up range. The entire system under the hood increases its capabilities in order to satisfy the brand’s customers.

The biggest benefits the new Jeep Gladiator offers, starting with its ‘star’ powertrain, is increased torque to optimize the off-road experience and fuel economy for increased performance. The winning engine is a 3.0-liter V6.
EcoDiesel properties will be available in Sport, Overland and Rubicon variants , equipped with third-generation Dana 44 axles and a Rock-Trac or Command-Trac two-speed transfer case. All together, it allows minimum levels of noise, vibration and hardness.
In terms of performance, the new Jeep Gladiator engine delivers 260 horsepower and 599 Nm of torque. The transmission it connects to is an eight-speed automatic calibrated for shifting at low revs and firmness. Of course 4 × 4 capacity.
The 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 unit uses camshafts with four valves per cylinder and there is a 60 degree angle between the cylinder bases. The block is made of compact graphite to offer damping resistance to vibrations and the pistons are made of aluminum.
It also incorporates an air cooler located at the base of the grill, in front of the radiator, in order to maximize the coldest temperatures. The gas recirculation system has been updated to a low and high pressure double circuit system, and direct fuel injection nozzles.

This diesel version opens pre-orders from now on but in the showcases of the dealers you will only be able to see the last months of the year. Its new EcoDiesel engine is manufactured at the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles facility in the municipality of Cento, Italy.
