The new 2021 BMW M3 is here. The highest performance expression of the Series 3 with a base power of 480 horsepower, which can be increased to 510 horsepower if a Competition variant is selected, with a manual gearbox in the first box and an automatic in the second box.
2021 M3 is BMW’s proposal for those who want a sporty version of the BMW 3 Series. Later, the family version of the BMW M3 Touring will debut. The M3 2021’s aesthetic prescription follows the same pattern as in the previous generation: a specific bumper and larger air intakes as claimed in the front area, which gets a much more prominent vertical grille than in the Series 3, making it more similar to the Series 4 concept.
The rear has a spoiler, diffuser and four exhausts which are grouped into two groups of two. The wheel arches receive M gills and receive lateral extensions on the carbon fiber sides and roof. The bodywork gets a new exclusive color and an optional M Carbon package to make the carbon fiber even clearer.
It is possible to purchase the optional M Race Track Package, which reduces weight by another 25 kilograms thanks to M Carbon carbo-ceramic brakes, M light alloy wheels and a bucket seat also made of carbon fiber.
As standard, the M suspension is adaptive and electronically controlled. Carbon ceramic brake is optional.

The 2021 BMW M3 offers parking and forward collision assistance and lane departure warnings as standard, with information on the instrument panel about speed limits. Alternatively, the Driving Assistant Professional with steering assistant and lane guard, active navigation, lane departure assistant, reverse gear parking assistance, BMW Drive Recorder and a head-up display system with M.
The 2021 BMW M3 is equipped with a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder turbo engine that offers two levels of performance.
In the basic version of the M3 2021, the car produces 480 horsepower. It accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers / h in 4.2 seconds with a combined consumption of 10.8 liters per 100 kilometers.
In the Competition version, power goes up to 510 horsepower and maximum torque to 650 Newton meters. That translates to 0-100 in 3.9 seconds and a combined consumption of 10.2 liters per 100 kilometers.
In both cases, the M3 2021’s top speed is limited to 250 kmph. It is possible to increase this cut to 290 kilometers / h with the optional M Drivers’ Package.
The basic M3 version complements a six-speed manual gearbox, while the Competition opted for the M Steptronic eight-speed automatic transmission with Drivelogic, allowing automatic or manual shifting with pedals on the steering wheel.
For the first time, a Competition version is also available with M xDrive all-wheel drive. It will be available from summer 2021, so it cannot be requested by the time the vehicle goes on sale.
The M3 2021 propellant is identical to the 2021 BMW M4 and comes from the X3 M and X4 M.
The driver can easily navigate between Road and Sport settings to switch between a comfortable and a sporty ride. By enabling M Drive Professional, you can also have a Track mode. This one features M stopwatch, M traction control and drift analysis.

The 2021 M3 Sedan will start at $ 69,900 and the 2021 M3 Competition will start at $ 72,800. BMW also notes that a $ 995 destination fee will apply to all prices.
